I’m a watercolour artist, keen to experiment with acrylics and other media. As a commercial artist I create storyboards, illustration & visuals using both traditional and digital media, but I’m very keen to devote as much time as I can to continue developing my own painting which, ultimately, I find more rewarding. I’m principally a representational artist and one who likes to feature the human face & figure – hence my passion for life drawing and painting, and for any kind of portraiture. Watercolour remains a favourite medium; I love using its transparency to convey areas of light and the blurred or sharp edges between light & dark.
As an artist I’ve exhibited in London (Mall galleries, Anise Gallery, Menier Gallery, Association of Illustrators) as well as nationally. Recent illustration commissions include a series of watercolours for Waitrose new product development, UK Parliament publications and digital illustrations for English Heritage giftware. |
