My name is Nadya Hristakieva, and I am a multimedia artist, working with natural materials such as stone, wood, as well as glass, and metal. My work is often inspired by nature, reflecting ecological issues and social themes — intersecting art, science, and the natural world. I like to work with lights and sometimes incorporate various sounds into the final art piece. My main interest is to create a sculpture or an installation, developed by using a single material or combination of the media mentioned above.
The natural world is stunning. Everything around us is alive. I like to think that my work, particularly the physical sculptures and installations, are extensions of the environment, keeping and highlighting the vital connection between humans and nature. I believe that each artwork I am developing tells a story in its own right, so the viewer not only can see the presented work, but feel connected to it. The various skills I learned such as photography, welding, woodturning, and many others, are contributing to the overall aspect of my art presentations. I am open to experimenting with other materials and discovering various techniques. I would like to think, I will make a difference to the world and not only with the presented design, but with the message that accompanies the artwork. |
