Using a restricted palette of black and white, my work challenges our perception through shades of grey to the diversity and reality of who we really are.
Throughout school and university l have always had an interest and focus on the human form and identity. Now I paint at my home studio, still exploring these recurring themes to create a mixture of “human landscapes” and “distorted portraits”.
I also have a passion for textiles and am a self-taught macramé artist. During lockdown l found myself looking for more of an escape than for a means of expression. I discovered macramé and now enjoy its endless possibilities which I am exploring to merge with my paintings.
