As one of the founder members of AVA I have been most fortunate to see and to be part of the development of this group over the years.
I obtained my BA Fine Art in Canterbury, where I focused on sculpture and photography. I have exhibited widely, am a member of the Creative Pilgrimage group, open my studio to the public in June and have been Artist in Residence at the William Harvey Hospital. My practice is in Hythe, producing handbuilt ceramic forms in Stoneware and Raku, referencing landscape and natural forms as the basis for my work. Several trips to China and Taiwan have also informed my practice. I enjoy the immediacy of hand building and the unique nature of each piece. My current work “Fabulous Birds” is inspired by the drawings of Quentin Blake, leading me into invention and fantasy. |
