The balance of my practice has changed as a result of adjusting to Lockdown, I am now more focused on design, protypes, experimenting and making my pottery during the day and drawing, doodling and collage work in the evening. My work has taken a new direction, I am now creating clay drawn faces and tiny people, though I still get inspired to create my houses, as I feel they are an embodiment of the human presence. They are unique, individually made using various clays and porcelain and are decorated mainly with oxides and various glazes. In addition, I have developed my linocuts, to incorporate them into my pottery. This process is full of surprises, as I do not know what the result maybe as I press the designed lino into the wet clay. What transpires are some exciting textural reliefs on my vases. These linocut and photo etchings are also available in print form. I am a member of the Pilgrims Way Artists and the Kent Potters. My work is regularly published and I am represented by the Lilford Gallery, Canterbury. Available as a visiting speaker or to hold workshops. |
