At the centre of my painting practice is the magical potency of colour and light. My work is often produced in series which develop from observation and a personal response, to abstracted representation.
When working with oils I tend to build up in layers and glazes allowing the colour and surface to shift with illusionistic depths.
The source and the subject are the starting point but I enjoy the possibilities that appear during the painting process consequently they hover between figuration and abstraction.
My aim is to try and convey as an artist my response to the richness and the transitory nature of the world around me.
