I take inspiration from the colours and forms of the natural world. I particularly love the multifaceted sea and sky and I am captivated by the intricacies and variety in plant life and trees.
I use acrylics on wooden boards or canvas. I like to work intuitively in layers of colour, pattern, texture and design to build a history behind each piece. In places this history is revealed in others it remains hidden. My paintings are often a mixture of abstraction and representational elements. Mostly they are related to landscapes where I want to evoke the sense and mood of a place rather than depict it accurately. I seek to joyfully represent the beauty that surrounds us.
