Christine Hipkiss BA hons I completed a foundation course at Maidstone College of Art in 1975. After that I concentrated on photography, working as a freelance photographer for various companies including the NFU. Later, I rekindled my interest in painting and completed a BA in Art and English at Canterbury Christ Church University College in 1998. My interest lies in bold colours and definite shapes, which is why still life appeals to me. Faces also intrigue me, human, animal and more recently bird. I paint in oil or acrylic on canvases of up to a metre square. My influences are Morandi, Diego Rivera and Tamara de Lempicka. Over the past twenty years I have exhibited with societies and groups at various London galleries. Also, I had two still life paintings exhibited at the Royal Academy Summer Exhibition. |
