![]() Ashford Visual Artists are excited to announce a new exhibition entitled “Elemental". The work is inspired by the unique environment to be found at Dungeness on the Kent coast where enough low-carbon energy for around 1.5 million UK homes is generated alongside a fascinating and wild landscape, a haven for migratory birds and a unique habitat for distinctive plants and insects.
The exhibition will be hosted by EDF Energy at the Visitor Centre at Dungeness B Power Station and will be the first time artists have shown at this venue. It opens on 28th April and continues through to 30th June. Visitor Centre Opening times are Monday to Friday, 0900 – 1600. Work will be available to buy with all commission donated to Breast Cancer Now, EDF Energy's official charity partner. The Private View date for the exhibition at Dungeness is Thursday 27th April 5-7pm. TO ALL ARTIST FRIENDS, MAKERS AND CREATIVES - AND YOUR ARTIST FRIENDS AND THEIR ARTIST FRIENDS and so on.
Carol E. Stump is involved in organising an installation 'ART IN COMMUNICATION'. This will take the form of a huge 'paper' chain which will be shown in May, 2017. It is to celebrate the connection, communication and friendships that we make through our mutual love of all things creative. We would like one strip 12" x 2" to be painted, printed, knitted or stitched from each artist. Or any other medium which is suitable to form a curved link. When you have created a strip, send Carol a private message via Facebook Carol E. Stump and she will give you her address which you can post the work to. The first venue for this installation is St Mary's Church, Burham, Kent which is a redundant building but is protected by the Church Conservation Trust. PLEASE TAKE PART IN THIS EXCITING PROJECT. SPREAD THE WORD ALL YOU LOVELY CREATIVES! Come on, join in! Ashford Visual Artists are proud to announce an exhibition hosted and inspired by Dungeness Nuclear Power Station and its environs. Artists will be showing work in 2017. More information to follow.
